this one surprised me! did not expect there to be galbanum in the beginning – a brief burst of sharp greenness that almost immediately settles into a delicate powdery sweetness. think of the sugary dust that settles at the bottom of a bag of marshmallows, but less cloyingly sweet. there’s also a dressing room makeup powder element to this scent that comes across as more youthful than vintage – a bit of powder billowing up from the compact of an ingénue rather than that of a seasoned starlet. it’s such a shame that guerlain discontinued this but i’m glad to have my precious 5ml decant for days when I want to feel like a marshmallow Peep in an expansive, fresh green meadow, which is most days honestly.
